Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a self-driven, high-performingData Analyst to join the Direct to Consumer (DTC) Technology team. This positionrequires in-depth knowledge of omni-channel retail KPIs, with expertise inpredictive analytics, data modeling and visualization. This position will be aliaison between cross functional business partners, technical and delivery teamsresponsible for data analytics activities and ongoing business support. The dataanalyst will be an integral part of the DTC Technology team across all functionalareas. The data analyst will be a key team member on the implementation of ourRetail business platforms for Point of sale, Merchandizing/ERP, OrderManagement and CRM.

Success in this role requires business engagement,functional and analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively,build relationships and influence outcomes in a cross-functional matrixorganization. Qualified candidates must possess the ability to apply analyticalmethods, perform data classification and reduction, and apply advanced machinelearning techniques to discover and solve challenging problems. This positionwill build Machine Learning capabilities on the Retail data ecosystem. Thisrole will be instrumental in building Communities-of-Practice in key datatechnologies across the ML & AI space at Columbia. Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratecross functionally with business and technical teams to understand required datasets, and prioritize opportunities
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of analyticmethods including regression, data classification and reduction, datavisualizations and/or other advanced machine learning techniques
  • Establish collaborative andproductive relationships with internal GIS department, business partners, externalpartners
  • Strong knowledge of analytics bestpractices, application delivery, predictive analytics, Power BI, data visualizationand machine learning models
  • Responsible for new reporttemplates, data model enhancements deliveries coordinated with the enhancementsto features and functions tied to a well-defined release calendar
  • Partner with the QA organization toinfluence the QA strategy and analytic requirements for application releases
  • Evangelize agile ways of working
  • Demonstrate data and analyticsindustry best practices to promote our technology capabilities
  • Exhibit intimate knowledge ofcustomer needs and expectations. Leverage these to influence the analytics roadmaptopresent data-driven analysis to drive business enhancementsfor overall user experience
  • Benchmark analytics capabilitieswith industry best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,Information Systems, analytics or a related field
  • 5+ years relevant experiencein an analytical role
  • Experience with SSRS, Power BI,Microsoft Azure is required
  • In depth, hands-on knowledge andexperience with at least one industry standard BI system
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,Project, Power Point) expertise including making effective presentations
  • Experienceusing visualization tools
  • Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and lead/drive IS projects
  • Ability to engage with businessresources to gauge current and future strategic needs
  • Experienceworking in both agile and waterfall SDLC environments
  • Retail industry experience is highlypreferred
  • Relevant professional certificationsare desirable
